Tour of the Czernin Palace and New Year Networking

Thanks to the kind support of Hana Flanderová, Director of the Visa Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, we are delighted to be able to offer ABIE and CANZA Members an exclusive chance to see the interior of the Czernin Palace, the home of the Ministry in Prague.

This is the largest of Prague’s baroque palaces and has served as the offices of the Czechoslovak and later Czech foreign ministry since the 1930s. It was commissioned by the diplomat Humprecht Jan Černín z Chudenic, the Habsburg imperial ambassador to Venice and Rome, in the 1660s. The tour will include the opportunity to see Jan Masaryk’s apartment as well as historic state rooms.

The building is not normally accessible to the public, and so this is a unique chance to see some recent and not so recent history.

The tour begins at 15.00 sharp and will last for approximately 60 minutes. The Ministry will provide an English-speaking guide.

There is no charge for the tour, but pre-registration is essential, as is close attention to the logistic details below:

    IMPORTANT LOGISTIC INFORMATION

For security reasons, we will need to enter the building as a single group, at 15.00 sharp. If you arrive late, you will be unable to join the tour, so plan to meet us outside the building in good time.

For those that don’t know it, the building is located at Loretánské nám. 5, 118 00 Praha 1

For security reasons, pre-registration is essential. Please pre-register at info@anzcham.cz on or before Tuesday 16 January. Note that we will need the full names of all participants as well as your nationality and passport or občanka number. If you fail to pre-register, you will be unable to join the tour.

We look forward to you joining us.

And join us for drinks afterwards

After the tour finishes, we will move on for a few networking drinks to welcome in 2024.  Please see the separate event notice (which will be issued soon for that event).

    Thank you

Thank you to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their kind hospitality.
